Reflection 5

 1.      Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments. Teachers:
a.       Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness;

In my MA 310 class I developed a project that helped me look at if the Wives Tales about boiling were true. To do this I used a LabPro software which allowed me to take temperature readings and find the slopes to see which type of water boiled the fastest. I could easily use this in a classroom to teach students about slope, since the data graphs in a slope form. It is helpful to the students because they would see the slope forming and understand what slope means beyond a set of numbers. This meets stand 1a because this experiments promotes creative thinking in the math classroom. In the future I would look for other math concepts that can be experimented with in the "real world"
